Start with your everyday routine
All five products in this edition use cool mist. The useful differences are tank capacity, manual versus connected controls, filling access and routine maintenance. Honeywell Ultra Comfort HUL545B adds a filter-free, manually controlled option with a separate essential-oil tray.
A bigger advertised coverage number does not establish better performance in your room. Open doors, ventilation, temperature and starting humidity all change how quickly moisture builds. We have not tested the advertised room sizes in this guide.
Decide how often you want to refill
The listed reservoirs range from the Classic 160’s 2.5 L to the Levoit NeoClassic 650S’s 6.2 L. Honeywell Ultra Comfort holds 1 US gallon, approximately 3.8 L. Larger capacity can mean fewer refills at the same output rate, but also more weight to carry.
Runtime claims deserve their settings: Levoit’s 25-hour Classic 160 claim is on low, and DREO’s 30-hour 3 L claim is in sleep mode. Do not compare them as though all machines were running at the same output.
Choose the controls you will actually use
A manual dial is appealing if you want a simple on-device routine. The Classic 160 fits that pattern. The selected HM311 offers on-device mist settings. The 3 L New Edition listing adds digital humidity controls, but app connectivity is not established for that exact listing.
The NeoClassic 650S documents VeSync app control, voice features and Auto Mode. Those may justify a higher purchase price if scheduling matters. A sensor accuracy claim is not the same as an independent test of humidity stability.
Look past “easy to clean”
Check how far your hand can reach into a tank, whether the base separates, and which parts are hand-wash only. A wide top opening is a useful design feature, but it is not a measured cleaning-time result.
For the Levoit 6.2 L listing, the explicit Amazon instructions permit only the detachable tray in the dishwasher. The water tank and silencer cover are hand-wash only. Always check the manual for the exact unit; broad marketing wording can omit these restrictions.
Consider the recurring cost
Purchase price is only one part of ownership. Add any required water treatment, replacement sponges or filters, cleaning supplies and electricity. Follow each product’s own water guidance; requirements differ between operating technologies.
We have not calculated annual operating costs for this five-product set because comparable power-use measurements and consistent use assumptions are not available. A precise-looking total without that foundation would be misleading.

On Amazon, use the ASIN in the review to identify the selected listing. On eBay, compare model, capacity, control layout and condition. “Open box,” “used” and “refurbished” offers can carry different return and warranty terms from a new unit.
